You accompany a beehive over two years. During this time, you will learn about all beekeeping activities. You will care for the bees, build a second colony, harvest honey, fight bee diseases and observe the colony. The "official" beekeping is taught.

Duration
1–2 years. If you decide to keep bees, you should also take time to care for them. There are more intensive periods (March–October) and phases when you practically do not have to disturb the bees (November–February). The amount of work is considerable, but you learn a lot.

Cost of materials
Beekeeping materials: approx. 2200 CHF (2 hives), annual consumables / hive: approx. 60 CHF. There is a modest annual contribution to the cantonal animal disease fund. Maybe you can take care of a hive yourself at a beekeeper in your area. It is important that you are responsible for the care of the colony.
