You will brew 5 L of beer with all the steps as practised by the breweries – from the malt to the sparkling beer out of the bottle, gaining an insight into the biochemical background of the brewing process.

If you are only interested in beer as the final product, you can brew without paying attention to the biochemical background. You get the basic skills to experiment with the brewing process yourself and create new beers. In case you want to understand the biochemistry in more depth, see under "required courses". In this case brewing makes sense even if you don't like beer. The homebrewed beer serves as a nice gift.
Please note that in Switzerland, the consumption of beer is forbidden under the age of 16.
