Working with horses
Contents
Working with animals is very fulfilling and ecological. We visit a self-sufficient farm in Sweden that works with horsepower instead of tractors. You will learn the craft of logging with horses. You will also receive an introduction to roping and cutting - two cowboy techniques for separating a cow from its herd. Roping involves removing a cow from the herd using a horse and lasso. In cutting, the horse anticipates the cattle's movements by "reading" it and tries to prevent it from running back to the herd on its own.
